At Revere Clinics, we understand rosacea and red vascular conditions can cause frustration. That’s why we offer a range of solutions to help you achieve clear, even-toned skin any on the body, with minimal downtime and discomfort. Our treatments are designed to target the underlying causes of rosacea and red vascular conditions, and even birthmarks such a Port wine Stains, resulting in long-lasting results.
Revere has a tried and tested approach to rosacea, persistent facial redness, and all things related to skin conditions.
Revere is a centre of excellence for all forms of lasers and we excel in treating vascular conditions, including effective treatments for rosacea. These include; Vbeam Perfecta, LaserGenesis and NdYag Lasers.
In order for us to understand how best to approach your chronic skin condition, what we’ll need to do is understand the depth at which your vascularity lies.
For superficial conditions such as acne, thread veins, and rosacea, we would use a V-beam type laser, a safe and effective treatment. The Vbeam Perfecta is a pulsed dye laser that targets the red pigment in blood vessels, causing them to shrink and fade over time. It’s ideal for patients with rosacea, port-wine stains, and other red vascular conditions such as thread veins that reside in the superficial layers of the skin.
Depending on the size of the vessels, we will treat those vessels at various durations which will then enable us to allow the body to resolve and process those redundant vessels afterwards.
Results will take multiple sessions and may take up to 8 weeks after each session for you to really see your progress and results.
For deeper vessels, we would use an Nd:YAG laser, which is the same laser that’s often used for hair removal and targets vessels at the very base of the dermis – those feeder vessels that are which are running up to the skin.
Since they are feeder vessels that supply those brighter vessels on the surface – don’t be surprised if our staff or I recommend that you have a combination of both V-beam and Nd:YAG treatments.
LaserGenesis is a non-invasive laser treatment that uses micro-pulses of laser energy to gently heat the deeper layers of the dermis. This technology stimulates collagen production and reduces inflammation, resulting in a reduction in redness and an improvement in skin texture. LaserGenesis is ideal for patients with rosacea, diffuse redness, and other red vascular conditions.
Both Vbeam Perfecta and LaserGenesis target the underlying causes of rosacea and red vascular conditions, resulting in long-lasting results. The main difference between the treatments is the type of technology used to achieve the desired results. Vbeam Perfecta is a pulsed dye laser, while LaserGenesis and Nd Yag uses micro-pulses of laser energy that target the deeper feeder vessels, and we describe the combined use of both technologies as Vascular Genesis.
The Nd:YAG laser is a different type of laser that emits a longer wavelength of light, allowing it to penetrate deeper into the skin. This makes it particularly effective for treating larger or deeper blood vessels, whereas the VBeam laser is better suited for treating smaller, more superficial vessels. Both lasers can be used to treat vascular conditions, but the choice depends on the specific condition and individual patient needs.
Both VBeam and Nd:YAG lasers can effectively treat a variety of vascular conditions, including rosacea, spider veins, facial veins, port-wine stains, haemangiomas, and cherry angiomas. The choice of laser depends on the specific condition, the size and depth of the blood vessels, and the patient’s skin type.
Both VBeam and Nd:YAG laser treatments are considered safe and well-tolerated. However, some potential side effects may include temporary redness, swelling or bruising. In very rare cases, there may be a risk of pigment changes, scarring, or infection but we will always take every measure to minimise such events.
Sometimes resistant conditions need to be treated with settings where bruising is a deliberate endpoint, this is called the purpuric setting, and downtime maybe 10 days.
The number of treatment sessions required for VBeam and Nd:YAG laser treatments varies depending on the specific condition and the individual patient. Generally we suggest starting with 3 or 6 sessions, with each session spaced several weeks apart.
The longevity of the results also varies, but many patients experience lasting improvements in their vascular conditions, particularly benign and birthmark lesions. Regular maintenance treatments may be recommended to maintain the best possible results, particularly with Rosacea.
Most of our patients describe VBeam and Nd:YAG laser treatments with a mild stinging, similar to a rubber band being snapped against the skin. Topical numbing creams or cooling devices can be used to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Pain and discomfort are generally well-tolerated and last no more than a few minutes.
The time it takes to see visible results from VBeam and Nd:YAG laser treatments varies depending on the specific condition being treated and the individual patient. Some patients may notice improvements in their vascular conditions within a few days to a few weeks following the treatment, while others may require multiple sessions to achieve the desired outcome. We’ll design a personalised treatment plan based on your unique needs.
After VBeam and Nd:YAG laser treatments, it’s essential to follow the aftercare instructions to ensure optimal healing and results. These may include avoiding sun exposure, applying sunscreen, using gentle skin care products, and avoiding activities that may cause excessive heat or sweating.
VBeam and Nd:YAG laser treatments can be safely and effectively used on various skin types, including lighter and darker skin tones. However, the specific laser settings and treatment parameters may need to be adjusted based on the patient’s skin type to minimize the risk of side effects and ensure the best possible results. Darker skin types may require preparation products to minimise hyperpigmentation
Rosacea typically presents with persistent redness, skin redness, and may include visible blood vessels on the face. Other symptoms of rosacea can include swelling, acne-like breakouts, and sensitive skin. Some rosacea sufferers might also experience ocular symptoms, such as irritated, red, and watery eyes.
