Revere Clinics featured in Tatler’s Beauty and Cosmetic Surgery Guide
The hugely anticipated Beauty & Cosmetic Surgery Guide by Tatler is finally out and here at Revere Clinics, we are proud to be featured in it twice!
The Guide has long been considered as the ultimate ‘who’s who’ bible of the surgical and non-surgical beauty world. Both Dr Sabika Karim and Dr Sach Mohan are delighted to be part of this year’s edition. Pop into Revere Clinics to flick through the Guide.
A defining moment in anti-ageing
At Revere we know that the ageing process of the face causes inevitable volume redistribution: we are losing facial fat in the upper face and gaining it along the lower cheeks, jowls and chin areas. For many years, physicians have been restoring facial proportions with dermal fillers alone, masking the effects of fat gain rather than adequately addressing them.
The new Fat Loss Facelift™ has revolutionised this approach, allowing us to tackle the excess fat that causes the middle age sag. Pioneered by Dr Mohan and available exclusively at Revere Clinics, this treatment involves a series of precisely targeted injections of Deoxycholate (the key ingredient in products such as Aqualyx and Kybella) to dissolve undesirable fat from the chin, lower cheeks, jawline and neck in one single session. The body naturally then removes the dead fat cells over the next eight weeks to give the final result. View our patients’ impressive results and before and after photos.
Tightening down below with Geneveve™
Our new Geneveve by Viveve™ treatment has become the hottest topic in town. This non-surgical procedure treats vaginal laxity and stress urine incontinence in one single session. It works at the cellular level to tighten the vaginal tissue gently and gradually without surgery. The Geneveve treatment uses patented deep heating and surface cooling technology to stimulate your body’s natural collagen formation process. This painless treatment takes 30 minutes with no anaesthesia or downtime required.

Thinking of having dermal fillers? Here’s what you need to know before booking the procedure.
As we age the gravity is inevitably taking its toll and many natural changes occur in our face: skin starts losing collagen and bones become thinner, while facial fat pads accumulate in lower areas such as the jowls, redistributing gain in some people and having atrophy in others.
Dermal fillers are frequently used to rejuvenate facial features, helping to restore youthful vigour and healthy plumpness. There are however, many myths about fillers and finding reliable information is not always easy. Revere Clinics’ Co-Founder and Cosmetic Physician, Dr Sabika Karim, has more than a decade of experience working with a variety of medical anti-ageing products, so we asked her to share her knowledge and unravel the mystery behind dermal fillers.
What are dermal fillers?
Filler is a synthetic compound that is typically injected into the skin and deeper structures to replace volume loss or add new volume to address effects of ageing or enhance facial features.
Fillers used at Revere Clinics are natural hyaluronic acid-based gels, which provides lasting results with minimal side effects. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar-like molecule that naturally occurs in your body. It has an impressive capacity to attract and hold vast amounts of moisture for skin. The HA used in fillers have cross linking ability that gives it strength and viscosity to help it behave like collagen, the main scaffolding that holds our skin together.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Dermal fillers integrate with skin tissue and allow the free passage of vital elements including oxygen and hormones, resulting in healthy, natural-looking skin. Our favourite fillers are Juvéderm brand. They are biodegradable so over time they are broken down and removed from the body. No long-term issues have been recorded.
What can dermal fillers be used for?
Fillers can be used to fix a variety of concerns, including:
• Adding volume and smoothing out deep lines that run from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines)
• Improving lip shape and definition and restoring youthful fullness
• Smoothing out vertical lines around the mouth
• Augmenting cheeks to enhance their shape
• Filling out hollows under the eye area (tear troughs)
• Altering the shape of the nose without surgery, to help control and mask little imperfections, such as bumps
• Filling gauntness in the cheeks or temple area
Which dermal fillers should I have?
With nearly 200 dermal fillers available to use in the UK, the choice could be quite confusing. At Revere Clinics, we only use FDA-approved fillers, which have been more thoroughly researched and evaluated in their approval process and proved to be safe and efficient.
The particular choice of filler depends on the area to be treated and each patient’s clinical need. One brand may have up to 8 different sub types of filler, each with their own properties that make them suitable for different parts of the face. To find out which product is best for you, we advise booking a consultation with the doctor.
What does the treatment entail?
During your first visit, the doctor will go through your medical history to make sure that the treatment is right for you. You will have a detailed discussion about your expectations and establish whether a filler treatment is suitable for your needs. Any possible side effects, complications, pain control and aftercare will also be discussed. We will then take photographs of you before the treatment in order to monitor your progress on your journey with us.
Are fillers painful?
Most fillers we use are combined with anaesthetic to minimise discomfort. For others, the numbing cream could be applied to the treated area before the procedure. Treatment usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes and involves a series of precise injections using a very fine needle.
When will I see the results and how long do they last?
The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly. The effects with biodegradable fillers usually last between 9 and 18 months, depending on the treated area, your age and your lifestyle. The treatment is designed to give a natural-looking result without affecting facial expression.
Are there any side effects?
Some injection-related reactions occasionally occur, such as transient redness, swelling, pain, itching and tenderness in the injection area. However, these resolve themselves after a few days. Other types of reaction are very uncommon after millions of treatments having been performed safely worldwide.
What are the key benefits?
Fillers provide instant results and wow factor, fillers are reversible and their safety has been well researched and proved. Don’t skimp on price – select a safe, proven product and the results can be fantastic.
Is that all I need to know about fillers?
Not yet, your choice of physician is the key. Practitioner should spend years developing their own aesthetic eye, skills and reputation, working on the look they want to create for their patients. Research carefully before committing to your treatment and check the before and after photos as well as fresh testimonials in your practitioner’s portfolio.

New Year – Improved You
The new year represents an opportunity for a fresh start. It is the reason why we make New Year’s resolutions and set goals to improve ourselves or our lives. Many lists include losing weight, spending more time outdoors and eating healthy greens, but now is also the time to make some beauty resolutions and add them to your daily routines. Make sure they are sustainable, what’s the point of setting unrealistic targets, bound to fail?
Wear sunscreen every day
If you’re going to have only one beauty resolution this year, it should be to wear sunscreen every day. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, preventing premature ageing. Revere doctors are recommending to apply it every day, even during the cold and cloudy months. Whilst it may not reverse the effects of ageing, it will certainly help prevent further damage.
Drink more water
Nearly all of our systems do not function as well without the proper water intake. Post-festive weeks are particularly difficult for our bodies and often result in dehydration. Carry a bottle of water with you to make sure you drink the recommended amount of two litres per day. The sufficient intake of water will flush out bacteria, prevent headaches, improve joints, make your skin glow and ensure proper circulation of nutrients in the body. Dr Sach Mohan likes to check his water intake at the beginning and end of the day, as most ‘hunger pangs’ are actually signs of dehydration.
Get to know your skin
After so many years living in our skin, we may think we know it inside out. It’s worth checking some key facts. Do you know if your skin is dry, oily or a combination of both? Is your skin sensitive? Consult an expert dermatologist or cosmetic physician to find out for sure, and you will then be able to choose the right products and cosmetic procedures suited for your specific needs.
Get a good night’s sleep
A good night’s rest is often considered as a pillar of health. Sleep is an ‘on’ switch for the natural circadian rhythm that our body needs. Early in the night time sleep cycle, people typically have a surge in growth hormone, which helps repair and rebuild body tissues like muscle and bone. It’s also proven that skin cells regenerate faster at night than during the day so catching your ‘beauty sleep’ is an integral step to keeping your skin youthful and radiant.
Diet with care
Attempts to get back into the dress that ‘fitted before Christmas’ result in many commencing extreme diets. However, few consider the effects that such plans can have on our health. Try to consider less drastic lifestyle changes this New Year. Exercising regularly, not just at the beginning of the year, will help to maintain your body weight. If some stubborn fat refuses to shift, you may consider CoolSculpting – the non-invasive treatment that freezes unwanted fat cells and eliminates them for good.
New Year’s resolutions may not happen all in one moment. Take one step at a time towards your dreams and remember that Revere Clinics are here to help you.
Looking for a cure for skin redness and rosacea?
Our skin can display redness for many different reasons; it could be caused be a diet, anxiety, general skin sensitivity, burst blood vessels or a medical condition called rosacea. The cold weather outside can also aggravate symptoms; according to the National Rosacea Society’s survey, the condition has worsened in 88% of their respondents during the winter. It means that now is more crucial than ever to consult a specialist doctor at Revere Clinics and tackle the issue once and for all.
Revere are internationally-acclaimed experts in treating a number of skin conditions using a revolutionary pulse-dye technology. The VBeam Perfecta is often described as magical and specifically designed to target redness in the skin. Unlike most other laser machines, it delivers an intense yet gentle burst of light into the targeted area. It works by breaking up and dispersing the red blood cells without damaging the rest of the skin. After being absorbed by the blood vessels or melanin in the skin, it safely and efficiently treats facial redness, flushing and rosacea.
Beauty journalist, Alice Hart-Davis, has recently reviewed the VBeam treatment performed by Dr Sach Mohan in the Ultimate Guide to Anti-Ageing by Daily Mail, giving it an impressive 9/10 score for effectiveness – “Wherever my doctor applied the head of the laser to my face, the redness vanished as if he had used an eraser.”
With thousands of treatments performed worldwide, VBeam is proven to be safe with minimal pain or downtime. Immediately following the treatment, the area may be slightly swollen, sensitive and feel warm. Some patients may also experience light bruising lasting approximately for two to four days, which could be easily concealed with makeup. We recommend avoiding exposure to sun or tanning after the treatment as well as avoid scrubbing or using abrasive skin cleansers during the first few days following treatment,
Thanks to its gentle power, VBeam can treat the multitude of skin conditions including spider veins / thread veins, sun damage, pigmentation, port wine stains, age spots, red scars, red stretch marks and inflamed acne.

Liposuction, 3D Lipo, Vaser Lipo, Vanquish, SculpSure or Coolsculpting – what to choose?
Sometimes our bodies store stubborn fat that seems impossible to lose. We all know the problem areas – the abdomen, the chin, and the arms… So what can you do when you’re desperate to get your figure the way you want it?
Liposuction, widely acknowledged as an effective surgery for cosmetic fat removal, was a game-changer when it first came on the scene in the 1980’s. Offering patients the chance to lose the fat which they couldn’t get rid of naturally, and allowing them to debut newly contoured and slim bodies in just a few weeks.
It’s still a good option for those looking to lose significant amounts of body fat quickly – particularly if it’s for health reasons. But traditional Liposuction does come with painful drawbacks. The surgery is invasive, and it can take many weeks for the patient to recover, leaving permanent scars after the procedure. It is a big price to pay – particularly when there are other options on the market.
What Other Options Are There?
We’re going to talk you through some of the best known fat removal procedures around – comparing what the process involves, the results you can expect to see, and an honest evaluation of whether this is a treatment we’d recommend to anyone looking to reduce body fat, balance their contours and reclaim their bodies!
Option 1: Vaser Lipo
Vaser stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance and is used to break down fat cells by applying a small probe to the selected areas, transmitting sound energy and ‘liquefying’ fat cells. The fat is then removed from the body through a small incision using a gentle suction process.
While less invasive that traditional liposuction, there’s still a 12-hour resting period following the procedure and due to swelling and bruising it’s recommended that you wait a few weeks before hitting the gym or engaging in any rigorous physical activity.
Another problem with Vaser lipo is results. It works well for slim patients with subtle contouring adjustments desired; however, if you’re carrying a little more weight – the results can be so subtle, they’re unobservable. It’s a lot of pain and bruising to go through for results that just aren’t guaranteed.
Option 2: CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting® targets, freezes and destroys unwanted fat cells from the body using a patented Cryolipolysis technology. This non-surgical treatment allows the body to eliminate fat naturally and can be used anywhere from the chin to the abdomen, the muffin top to the inner thighs!
A protective gel is placed on the area before applying the CoolSculpting applicator to ensure the skin is protected. The CoolSculpting machine then chills the cells beneath the skin to temperatures as low as -11°C, causing the fat cells (and the fat cells only) to crystallise, and die. Results can usually be seen between 3 and 12 weeks later as the body processes and eliminate the fat – leaving you with visible yet natural results.
Each CoolSculpting session takes between 35 minutes and one hour (depending on the area) and involves minimal discomfort, meaning patients can read, work on their laptops or even watch a movie on their iPad as the machine does its magic.
There’s minimal risk of bruising or swelling while undergoing CoolSculpting, and there’s no downtime, meaning you could have your treatment in the morning and get back to work that afternoon.
Option 3: 3D Lipo
3D Lipo is sometimes sold as the full-service approach to non-invasive fat reduction – however, despite the myriad of treatments applied; results can be disappointing.
A full 3D liposuction treatment includes cavitation, Cryolipolysis, radio frequency and dermology. The cavitation is used in the beginning, which is the application of ultrasound waves to the desired area to disrupt the unwanted fat. ThenCryolipolysis treatment is applied – although it works from the same scientific method as CoolSculpting, CoolSculpting is the only method which has been FDA-approved. Radiofrequency is then used to tighten the skin; followed by dermology to remove cellulite.
While the process might sound through – sometimes throwing everything but the kitchen sink at a problem is less efficient than skilled, well considered and targeted solutions. The 3D Lipo process takes time, and money – plus, the results seen from cavitation are often negligible; making it an unnecessary treatment.
Option 4: SculpSure
On the opposite end of the spectrum from CoolSculpting, we have SculpSure, a fat reduction treatment that kills fat cells with heat instead of cold.
SculpSure machines feature a flat applicator which is applied to the flank, abdomen or inner thighs for around 25 minutes. During that time the fat cells in the area are heated to between 42°C and 47°C, using laser technology. The process kills off the fat and over the next few weeks the body eliminates the dead cells through natural processes.
The treatment promises to cause minimal discomfort and need no downtime to recover. However, SculpSure is quite new to the market – only recently having completed a clinical trial stage of 100 patients. As a result, the long-term effects of this kind of treatment are unknown.
Option 5: Vanquish
Finally, we come to Vanquish – a non-invasive fat removal product which is advised as being most effective for clients who are within 5-10% of their ideal weight.
Using radio frequency waves, the temperatures delivered to the fat cells within the body are even higher than SculpSure, reaching a whopping 120 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes of treatment. The process operates in the same way as the other procedures, allowing the body to naturally eliminate the fat once it has been destroyed.
One advantage of Vanquish is that due to its method of transmission (via a hovering panel above the patient’s stomach) it is possible to treat larger areas than most applicators will allow. Unfortunately, this does not translate into efficiency per treatment – several treatments are often required, for relatively small visible changes.
Revere’s verdict: Choose CoolSculpting, the treatment that works
There is only one fat reduction treatment that we would recommend as being reliably effective, value-for-money and non-invasive – both to your body, and your lifestyle, and that’s CoolSculpting.
After performing thousands of CoolSculpting treatments at Revere Clinics, the results we’ve seen from our patients are revolutionary. There’s no downtime, no stitches or incisions and very little discomfort. In our opinion, there’s really no better way to eliminate unwanted fat and enjoy a slimmer, more confident you.
CoolSculpting journey of the Body Fixers’ star Alex Henry
When Channel 4 launched their new TV show Body Fixers, we at Revere were instant fans! Being entrusted and responsible for our patients’ transformations is by far the highlight of our profession and similarly watching it on screen and seeing the participants’ reaction makes it so rewarding. Even more exciting was seeing one the stars of the show, talented make-up artist Alex Henry.
Alex is a patient of Revere Clinics and one of our greatest ambassadors. His own quest for perfection led him to Revere Clinics for his own body transformation earlier this year. Alex admitted that RevereClinics.com was his favourite website, but it took him months to decide to tackle his own body insecurities and we were proud that he choose team Revere as his personal body fixers.
Despite having a generally lean physique and a healthy lifestyle, he was concerned about some stubborn fat bulges in his tummy and chest, and wanted to get rid of this once and for all. Being the king of contouring himself, he became fascinated with CoolSculpting. This non-invasive body contouring treatment freezes fat cells and destroys them for good. After seeing patients’ before and after photos on Revere Clinics’ website and having a consultation with Dr Sabika Karim, Alex was convinced that this is the right procedure for him and entrusted his body to Revere.
Follow Alex’s exciting CoolSculpting journey to find out whether Revere were able to give him the physique he wanted on our new dedicated website for CoolSculpting.
Six mini videos were filmed as we followed his journey across two months. Even if you’re not interested in CoolSculpting, his witted one-liners and flamboyance make it’s a must watch for the entertainment factor alone! Visit www.coolsculptme.co.uk.
