Beauty Fads Debunked to Help You Get Flawless Skin

26th Sep, 2018

Summer may be over but the sun is still shining, the weather is warm and your skin is on full display. Each year brings beauty fads to jumpstart your skincare – we’re here to share and examine these trends, as well as providing treatments at our Harley Street cosmetic clinic that can have your skin looking flawless in no time at all.

Masks and patches

Rejuvenate your face with a facemask or patch targeted at your skin’s problem areas. No matter if your skin is dry, oily or a combination, there is a mask to target your skin – masks promise to help with ageing skin as well. While facemasks feel great, the question on everyone’s minds is, how effective are they? Some see results right away, while others don’t.

Treating your body as you would your face

We treat our face and neck with the utmost care, as they are a tell-tale sign of our age – but what about the rest of our body? A new trend sees us taking care of our body just as we would our face and neck – this can be done through body serums, exfoliators and moisturizers.

An effective and more immediate solution is offered at Revere Clinics through our EndyMed Skin Tightening (FSR) treatment. EndyMed’s 3DEEP Fractional Skin Resurfacing repairs the texture and quality of the skin, treating fine lines, roughness, uneven skin tone, dryness, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, wrinkles and scars. This is done through a non-invasive stimulation of collagen and elastin production.

Saving the environment with eco-friendly packaging

Consumers are becoming more aware of the harm plastic can cause when not recycled properly; therefore we can expect to see a shift towards plant-based plastics. Another environmental concession being made is the use of less water in products as the demand for the resource could soon outweigh the supply.

Skincare supplements

This trend is about integrating what you put in you and on you to create the best skincare routine. Many are turning to supplements such probiotics to make their skin look better. A solution offered by Revere Clinics are our Vitamin and Mineral Drips, which deliver essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants directly into the bloodstream.

Gender neutral beauty

Beauty and skincare is not just for women and that is becoming more and more evident in 2018 with the launch of many unisex products. The same can be said with treatments at Revere Clinics, where anything from dermal fillers to laser hair removal can be targeted towards men and women. A great treatment for both men and women to keep your skin looking great is the HydraFacial, which delivers an immediate glow and provides long lasting results that detoxify your skin, eliminates dead skin cells and debris, delivers a potent blend of botanicals and antioxidants, deeply hydrates and stimulates collagen.

Active buys

With fitness being of such importance in 2018, it’s no wonder that brands are releasing active ranges and producing cosmetics and skin care treatments to complement an active lifestyle. Cosmetic treatments are also available to complement a healthy lifestyle such as MiraDry, offered by Revere Clinics, which eliminates perspiration from your underarms.

Gadgets galore

A trend that could have risky results is portable beauty tech, making advanced skin care more accessible, however if done incorrectly could have undesired results. While there are tools for treatments, such as microneedling, the best results are always delivered when done by a professional.

Bespoke everything

One of the largest trends is that of bespoke, people want to know that they are getting a personalised approach that is tailored specifically for their skin. Skincare companies therefore are required to have extensive lines to ensure that each and every skin type is accounted for – other companies create bespoke products or services for each consumer. This trend perhaps, is where Revere Clinics fit in most prevalently as each service they offer is tailored to every client’s specific needs.

From masks and patches to eco-friendly packaging, 2018 is a year of abundance for beauty trends. While these products certainly have the potential to give you flawless skin – you can rely unequivocally on the cosmetic treatments we offer here at Revere Clinics to ensure that your skin looks and feels amazing in no time at all. Rejuvenate Your Face in a Pinch

26th Sep, 2018

When we’re born, our face is soft and smooth, like a baby’s bottom some would say, not a wrinkle or line in sight. Unfortunately, no matter how many creams we put on our skin through the years, we can’t stop the inevitable from happening. However, at Revere Clinics, a Harley Street cosmetic clinic, our team of experts can help reverse the effects of ageing with our bespoke and effective treatments.

What causes our skin to age?

There are many factors that contribute to ageing skin such as normal ageing, exposure to the sun, loss of subcutaneous support and pollution. Other factors vary per person based on their personal experiences, including stress levels, weight, their daily facial movement and sleep position.1 Although ageing happens to everyone, it does vary from person to person as each person is different and therefore their skin will react differently.

Preventing the tell-tale signs that come with ageing

We’ve previously mentioned the different ways which you can prevent ageing through eliminating junk food,  consuming less or no alcohol and not smoking. Cutting out these bad habits out of your life will give your skin the vital oxygen, nutrients and water it needs to stay rejuvenated to keep you looking young for as long as possible.

Other factors that are preventable is the exposure of your skin to harmful UV rays, which permeate your skin and damage its elastin fibres and collagen. Therefore, it’s important to wear sunscreen with high SPF and the appropriate clothing, regardless of the tan you’re hoping to achieve. 2

What are the effects of ageing on our skin?

A number of things can happen to our skin once the effects of ageing set in. A common side effect is the thinning of the epidermis, which is the outer skin layer. As well, the number of pigments containing cell (melanocytes) diminishes, which is what causes the skin to look thinner and more translucent. Additionally, the tell-tale age spots that appear are usually caused by sun exposure – another effect of sun exposure can be changes in the skin’s strength and elasticity, a condition known as solar elastosis or elastosis if not caused by the sun. 3 These are just some of the effects ageing can have on your skin, all of which can be reversed with the correct treatment(s).

Rejuvenating your face just takes a quick lift

While ageing skin can be the cause of much distress, it doesn’t need to be, as there are a number of ways to rejuvenate your face, turning back time and leaving your skin feeling brand new. At Revere Clinics, we have an array of treatments from laser hair removal to eliminate unwanted facial hair to dermal fillers, which help plump up the skin – however, one treatment we would highly recommend is our Brow Lift.

Revere’s Brow Lift is a non-invasive solution that will smooth and rejuvenate the upper face. Through strategic injections of Botox, it will lift the brow area opening up the eye area for a subtle, naturally youthful appearance – greatly reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines in the upper face.  Results can be seen almost immediately, just three days after treatment and will last anywhere from three to six months.

No matter if you’ve spent years taking careful care of your skin or wish to repair the effects of bad habits we are all guilty of, our team at Revere Clinics can help. Get in touch today and find out which one of Revere’s treatments, tailored to each individual’s needs, can help rejuvenate your face in a pinch.
